Moissanite Wedding Ring Paired With Diamond Engagement Ring?
I have a lovely 3-stone diamond engagement ring with channel set diamonds. I am considering moissanite for my wedding ring. The wedding ring would be 5 moissanite stones in a band, and the total weight would be 0.5 carats. Would the moissanite look noticeably different sitting right next to the diamonds? I heard moissanites do not look as "fake" when they are small.

I have a 1 carat moissanite. Only a jeweler, under his special looking glass, can tell the difference. I wear it with diamond bracelets, other rings with diamonds and it sparkles all the same.
I think your Moissanite (which I'm a HUGE fan of) band would pair beautifully with your engagement ring, especially as the stones are small (at .5 carats, I'm assuming the stones are about 1 mm apiece).
The larger the Moissanite, the more "green" the refraction (especially if set in yellow gold), but it still won't look fake.
Dumb...a diamond band is not all that expernsive. Go for the real thing.
you should be able to afford diamonds that small, and have them match in sunlight, rather than have them look green in sunlight. it's not a pretty picture, moissanite's aren't quality, they are cheap, and completely synthetic.

----------> moissanite is Silicon Carbide, gross.
It's hard to say if you would get a good match or not. You're never guaranteed a match, even pairing one diamond with another. I think the most noticeable difference would be found with colour. For example, a H diamond next to a D diamond looks yellowish. But, if your diamond falls into more of a H-J colour range, you would likely get a better match with moissanite. If your engagement ring's diamonds are colourless, you might also consider an enhanced moissanite ($100 per carat at moissaniteco.com). I've known people to seamlessly match enhanced moissanite with their diamonds. You will also notice your wedding band will sparkle a lot more than your engagement ring and will throw off a lot more fire.
My engagement ring is moissanite. The 6.5 centre is enhanced and looks like an F-G diamond. The sidestones are small, they're unenhanced, but still colourless. My ring came from moissaniteco.com, they offer a top quality product. You will find a lot of retail locations that sell moissanite only have old stock which had more colour than modern moissanite. You could always try your e-ring on with moissanite bands, or if you order online the website I listed above has an excellent return policy.
I don't think moissanite looks fake at all. If by fake you mean lab-created, I see no indication of that in my stones, but I don't see how that's a bad thing either. So what if your stones are ethical? I consider that a positive. The reason why it is said larger stones look fake is not because the stone actually looks fake but because the person wearing it would obviously not be of the means to afford something so large. If you're looking to pass off your wedding band as being diamond, you shouldn't have a problem, unless you keep gemologists in your social circle. I'm not ashamed of my ring at all, I have never tried to pass it off as a diamond, but everyone assumes that it is one.

ETA: What's with the moissanite haters around here lately? What did moissanite do to you-seriously? Who would have thought a gemstone would be such a hot button issue. I'm really finding the people who are so against moissanite are just ignorant, this is partly to blame on that it is largely purchased online and good examples are rarely seen in person. JC Penney is infamous for carrying poor quality moissanite, and it seems a lot of people develop their opinions based on that. I went to a chain jeweler who had a few moissanite rings on hand and they were green, but I recognized them as old stock. My moissanite ring, made in 2010, is white as white, there is no yellow, no green and no brown and it looks beautiful in all light, especially sunlight. If you don't know anything about moissanite, just don't bother pretending you do.
ETA: I have to respond to mickie lynn's ever so reputable article there. Note the sarcasm.
Article Title: 3 Resons Why Moissanite is a Bad Choice for Engagement Rings.
Reason 1. Moissanite is not a diamond. (Oh, really?)
Reason 2. Moissanite is too sparkly. (Is there such a thing?)
Reason 3. Moissanite is gray/green (False.)

Yes, the author is a competitor who stands to gain by stealing would-be moissanite customers.
